Dates & Fees 2009
Our joining dates are flexible, so it is usually possible to start within a term or a course, or to stay across courses. The minimum period for enrolment is 2 weeks, but it is also possible to stay for an academic year or longer.
A. GENERAL ENGLISH
ACADEMIC YEAR
- For example: 5th January - 18th December 2009 (36+ weeks)
1. SPRING TERM
- 5th January - 27th March (12 weeks)
(Start any Monday by arrangement)
2. SUMMER TERM
- 30th March - 26th June (13 weeks)
(Start any Monday by arrangement)*
*Mondays 13th April, 4th May and 25th May are public holidays.
(There will be no classes on these days, but the school will be open for leisure and self-study as usual)
3. SUMMER COURSES
- Course 1: 29th June - 24th July (4 weeks)
- Course 2: 27th July - 21st August (4 weeks)
- Course 3: 24th August - 18th September (4 weeks)
(It is possible to enrol for more than one course)
4. AUTUMN TERM
- 22nd September - 19th December (13 weeks)
(Start any Monday by arrangement)
TUITION FEES (per week)
- 2 - 8 weeks £235 (full rate)
- 9 - 13 weeks £225* (discounted rate)
- 14 - 24 weeks £215* (discounted rate)
- 25+ weeks £195* (discounted rate)
*The discounted rates for tuition fees on courses longer than 8 weeks are only offered on condition that all fees are paid in advance. Otherwise, the full weekly rate will apply.
REGISTRATION FEE: £75
The registration fee is a non-returnable "one-off" payment made in advance as part of the £150 Course Deposit. The remaining £75 is a pre-payment of tuition fees.
Evidence of payment of the £150 Course Deposit is necessary before the school can issue a letter of acceptance.
Please note: Apart from tuition and some social activities, course fees include:
- Coursebooks & writing materials
- Leisure & self-study facilities available until 11.00 p.m. every day (including weekends) - with free broadband wi-fi internet access
- Transport in school minibus
- Tea & coffee, plus use of student kitchens

Accommodation
- Host family or private home - £120 (per week)
- Host family or private home with private bathroom facilities (limited supply)* - £180 (per week)
- Hotel / Guest house (average price) - £55-£130 (per night)
* This type of accomodation is in short supply and cannot be guaranteed at all times.
Methods of Payment
- A. Course Deposits and fees sent in advance:
- 1. Either by bank transfer (details provided upon request), or
- 2. By cheque (Sterling cheque - drawn on a London bank) sent to the school.
- Please make cheques payable to: Oxford House School of English
- B. Balance of fees:
- should be paid by bank transfer or by cheque (as above),
- travellers' cheques (in pounds Sterling),
- or in cash on the first day of the course.
PLEASE ENSURE THAT THE SCHOOL RECEIVES THE EXACT STERLING AMOUNT, ALLOWING FOR ALL BANK CHARGES.
