Intensive English Courses for Executives

In today’s professional world, most executives have little time to perfect their English, although the requirement for them to operate proficiently in the language is becoming ever more important and urgent. Our Intensive English Courses for Executives are designed to complement the participants' long-term in-company training programmes, typically by providing a one to two-week full immersion course at the school. During their stay, participants receive highly intensive and relevant practice within the time-frame available. Though flexible in their design, these courses are based around a common core of elements, outlined below.
Closed groups and individuals
Groups or individuals are selected and sent by client companies. This gives the client companies control over the level and needs of the participants and thereby makes the course more than an off-the-shelf business English course.
Tailor-made
Oxford House liaises closely with client companies so as to make the course relevant to the participants’ needs. As the students come as individuals or small closed groups, Oxford House is able to design the courses around the specifications of the client companies.
Skills and task-based sessions
The morning sessions are based around simulated tasks that require the participants to use and practise the skills required to carry out their jobs in English. In order to complete the tasks successfully, the participants acquire the language appropriate to their professional life.
Individual tutorials
Whereas the morning sessions are designed around the professional skills of the participants, the afternoons focus on their individual English language needs. Every learner is different, and these personalised sessions allow the trainers to guide the participants’ learning during the course and to give practical advice for follow-up work.
Excursions
The excursions are designed and selected in order to give the participants practice in transferable language and skills. The participants are required to gather information, which they then present to the tutor and/or the rest of the group the following day.
