General Courses

Our joining dates are flexible, so it is usually possible to start within a term or a course, or to stay across courses. The minimum period for enrolment is 2 weeks, but it is also possible to stay for an academic year or longer.

* Discounted rates are offered only when fees are paid in full in advance. Otherwise the full rate applies (£245 per week).

Course Deposit: £150

This includes a non-returnable registration fee of £75. The remaining £75 is an advance payment of course fees.

Evidence of payment of the £150 Course Deposit is necessary before the school can issue a letter of acceptance.

Please note: Apart from tuition and some social activities, course fees include:

  • Coursebooks & writing materials
  • Leisure & self-study facilities available until 11.00 p.m. every day (including weekends) – with free wi-fi internet access
  • Transport for outings in school minibus
  • Tea & coffee, plus use of student kitchens

Visa Nationals

To help meet the current financial requirements when applying for a visa to study in the UK, students needing a General Student (Adult) Visa, a Student Visitor Visa or an Extended Student Visitor Visa, are strongly recommended to pay all fees in advance, including accommodation fees. If a visa is refused, fees will be refunded, less the course deposit and any extra administration fees involved (e.g. courier charges). See Terms & Conditions for more details.

Accommodation

  1. Host family or private home – £135 (per week)
  2. Host family or private home with private bathroom facilities* – £185 (per week)
  3. Hotel / Guest house (average price) – £60-£150 (per night)

* This type of accomodation is in short supply and cannot be guaranteed at all times.

Specialist Courses

Although start dates are flexible, it is recommended that those doing combination courses try to begin their studies on one of the scheduled start dates for General English courses.

Individually designed teaching programmes for small professional groups, e.g. English for Executives, University Academics, Teachers, Technicians etc. We also arrange cultural study tours on request. Fees & dates by arrangement

2012 Dates & Fees

General Courses

Recommended course start dates are shown below. However, it is possible to start any Monday by arrangement. The minimum period for enrolment is 2 weeks, but students can stay for any number of weeks up to an academic year or longer, depending upon any visa restrictions, if applicable. For students preparing for Cambridge exams and / or IELTS, we recommend staying for a full term of 12 to 13 weeks.

Courses consist of 23 hours per week, including a 2-hour options programme on Wednesday afternoons. The maximum number of students per class is 8 (10 during summer courses – July to September).
